This "Ink Painting" series uses aged paper and permanent black ink. Jonathan used the ink not only in its pure or diluted liquid form, but also its hardened form, which allowed him to work with the ink like charcoal or a rub, in order to achieve a more finely detailed, painterly final product that also maintains the organic, gestural quality of the "Line Drawing" series.
